Tallinn, 9-13 July 2018
For the second time in history some fellow Rotarians golfers from Estonia organized a great week of golf.
Under the leadership of Rtn Urmas Isok, the organizing committee worked out the 55th IGFR World Championship with a quite remarkable program. About 150 participants enjoyed both excellent golf courses, the beautiful Sea course at the Estonian Golf & Country club and the challenging Niitvälja Golf course.
Rtn Zelimir Feitl from Croatia won the Carl Miller trophy and became the 2018 IGFR World champion!
It was the second international tournament that was organized in the capital of Estonia.
The first (the 37th European Rotary Golf Championship) was held in 2011.
Very few countries in the past could make such an effort without having a structured Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians association. Urmas and his team could make it happen twice.
Today we are happy to announce that the Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians – Estonia has now been established.
Four fellow Rotarians took up their responsibility: Urmas, Rein, Raul and Jaan.
They will promote the golfing fellowship throughout their country in the coming months and years.
They will motivate Rotary clubs and Rotarian golfers to organise local tournaments for fun and maybe also for raising funds for their social projects. This will also attract young Rotarian golfers to join the association. (LS)
